Ken is the Vice President of Shared Business Services for Strategic Leadership Associates (SLA) in Dayton, OH beginning in August,, 2014. Prior to returning to SLA, Ken spent 9 1/2 years as Vice President of Corporate Development for Shook Construction in Dayton, OH (see: http://www.bizjournals.com/dayton/news/2014/07/29/shook-construction-executive-leaving-for.html?surround=etf&ana=e_article&u=qlqD+LLqKYSDp7Jg7qo/HRQVdkr&t=1406762734.) Ken was a member of Shook’s management team and was responsible for the development, implementation and management of the company’s marketing and sales strategy for an 11-state market region that stretched from Illinois to the Mid-Atlantic States.
Ken has a history of sales, marketing, sales management, promotion and strategic planning success. Starting as a territory sales representative for a portland cement manufacturer, he earned progressively greater responsibilities in a blend of management positions that included human resources director, national sales manager, and ultimately, leading marketing, planning, promotion and sales management teams on a statewide, regional and national level.
Before his time at Shook, Ken spent almost three years working with SLA president Dave Ramey, a highly regarded planning and coaching facilitator who is based in Dayton. Ken worked with a variety of CEOs and sales executives to develop corporate marketing and individual sales plans to complement the marketing effort.
Ken’s background has given him the desire to help transform organizations through his development of 3 Simple Practices™. Ken developed and refined a simple planning process that provided Focus, Consistency and Accountability for small and medium sized businesses and individuals.
In addition to his work at Shook Construction, he is currently an advisory board member to three CEOs, mentors minority companies and is an executive coach. Ken is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH and holds an MBA in Executive Management from Ashland University.
